It all started with a spreadsheet.

When I began my first leadership position at a small fundraising foundation, I asked for access to the donor database.

I was given the location on the file server to a spreadsheet. That was their donor database.

I didn’t know it then, but that was the conception of ImpactWorks Nonprofit Solutions.

I began my career in fundraising not actually as a fundraiser, but as a web developer and communications program designer. Over my career, that experience evolved from being part of the supporting cast to leading fund development operations, organizations and campaigns.

And at most of the points in my career, as a professional or as a volunteer, I walked in finding a donor database horribly underutilized or mismanaged (or in spreadsheets or word documents), no long-term plans or strategic approaches, mission statements that focus on fundraising and fiduciary responsibilities instead of the actual mission (those were my personal favorites), and countless well-meaning, good-hearted board members who knew nothing of their role or purpose.

Once is chance. Twice might be a coincidence. But many times, that’s a pattern. And a problem.

That’s why I founded ImpactWorks Nonprofit Solutions, to use my unique blend of talents to help nonprofit organizations thrive by solving the problems and streamlining the processes no one has the time or talent to address, allowing them to focus on their core mission and purpose.

When I’m not reconventioning a database or mapping out a strategic plan, you’ll probably find me in a kitchen crafting up some opulent dish or fermenting/pickling/preserving something, hanging out with my kids, or out on some forest trail exploring nature.

Let’s connect! I’d love to hear about the amazing work you do, what you want to do, and maybe even share our favorite recipes.
